Apartment with sparkling colors

fredag, april 05, 2013

Friday and we have a winner of my industrial lamp via My Scandinavian Home blog. Check the blog today to know if you are the winner. Yehhh! I am so happy that so many of you entered the give-away and thank you dear Niki for having my first product at your fab blog.

I was thinking that a good start of the weekend was to share these nice pictures from my favorite apartment agency, Alvhem. I found a beautiful apartment with a light atmosphere but with some sparkling colors here and there. Take a look and enjoy. So many design items in this apartment. Kay Bojesen wooden ape, String shelf, bumling lamp (in white) just to mention a few of them. Well there is a birthday coming up....hint hint in May. The wooden ape is something on my wish list!!

See you Monday again!

My little Shop!

torsdag, mars 28, 2013

Today I am so glad to present my webshop, ML Design, with my first product available, a lamp with an industrial touch made of brass and copper. And I am so excited, as I have already had my first customers!!!
The idea came up during one of my DIY projects and I thought it was a nice way of reusing existing material. I am also very fond of the industrial trend, and copper and brass is just the right thing.

Via my ML Design web shop, you will find all colors available of the lamp and more pictures as well as the dimensions, price and how to order.

And just to celebrate the shop opening!!! There is a give-away competition available for you with the possibility to win one of my lamps via the fabulous blog My Scandinavian Home, starting today. Enter the blog and you will get all details from Niki during the day.

For me it is important to have the environment in mind, therefore I am using reusable material. But it is also important to give something to others, so I have decided to give 3% of the income for each lamp to UNICEF  for each lamp. I hope you enjoy the product!

Welcome to the shop and see you all after the Easter holiday again!

SPA in Båstad!

fredag, mars 08, 2013

Do you know what SPA stands for? I did not. What to do without search engines such as Google? SPA stands for ”salus per aqua” and means water treatment. Anyway, we are looking forward to a wonderful Saturday with SPA at Båstad Skansen. We will have massage and brunch and just practice to not do anything. A little time together before we get our baby later on :). You have to take your time off right? Båstad Skansen is definitely one of the best places I have been to in south of Sweden when it comes to SPA. The atmosphere of the hotel, the surrounding (the nature is outstanding) and the food.....Oh my. Just take a look at these pictures.

All pictures from Skansen Båstad

What are you up for this weekend? Any special plans? Ohh by the way, we have a winner of the rug from LORENA CANALS!!! Congrats Sara Kramer to the kids rug! I hope you will like it. Have a lovely weekend all, and see you again on Monday!

LORENA CANALS has been specialized in rugs for kids for 10 years. The washable rugs of LORENA CANALS is 100% cotton, and can be washed in a conventional washing machine (no need to go to the dry cleaner). What I particularly like with LORENA CANALS, is that they have environmentally friendly rugs, control of no polluting chemicals, toxic or polluting dyes as well as Control of Non-Child labor.

LORENA CANALS also offers more products, such as blankets and decorations. You can find them here in their catalogue. So what are you waiting for, hurry-up to participate in the give-away? Hepp hepp!

Maybe another DIY?

måndag, februari 25, 2013

Hi there! How was the weekend?
We have had winter holiday now for a week, and today is the first day at work again. Puhhh hard to get up in the morning again...

But I have two lovely things to share with you this Monday. First I have my first sponsor, Lorena Canals!!! Lorena Canals, has a lot of wonderful carpets made of cotton for children. To celebrate the new sponsor, I will get back later this week with a Give-away together with Lorena Canals.

The second thing, is that I found this lovely little DIY inspiration today at a Swedish blog called hitta-hem.blogspot.se. The DIY project is a book, or magazine shelf (see pictures below), and such a brilliant idea.

The blog owners, Maria Ramse and Pella Hedeby, have more than 10 years experience within interior design, working for JM AB. You can tell they have a lot of experience by these stunning pictures.
I just love it all, especially the Kay Bojesen wooden monkey,  designed in 1951...

DIY & Give-away: Week Calendar

fredag, februari 22, 2013

So finally I can share my latest DIY project and my Give-away to you this week. My DIY is the week calendar that I have mentioned earlier that I have had in mind. With this DIY it is easier to plan the coming week, both related to dinners, activities etc for the family. Below are some pictures from our kitchen where the calendar is located.

This Give-away you can download and print yourself, you find it here. The size is 50 x 70 cm and the frame I have used, is the one from IKEA called Ribba. Ribba is available in different colors such as black and white, and when you have it behind glass (as picture 2 above), you can easy write on it.

We have used the same kind of frame as for our other posters in the kitchen. The poster below is from Fotografiska and Vee Speers is the creator.

Lately it has been very little DIY projects here, but I have one ready for you at Friday this week. Something little that you can get yourself if you like. But first, I have to share this inspiring DIY from Nina Holst at Stylizimo. A 'look a like' to Svensk Tenn Elephant pillow. What a perfect DIY!

Valentine yesterday, and I hope you got a lot of love!

Entering the weekend with full speed, I found these pictures that made me relax and slow down a little. Just lovely and the Stockholm carpet (from IKEA) on the first picture. It is just a must have.

Today's theme is "sit down and relax", which you basically can do on all the pictures below :)
